Colonial Buildings is based at Southend-on-Sea, Essex. Established in 2011 having 30 years’ experience in design and build Carpentry and House Building, as well as 25 years’ experience in Property Security.
The new company was created to provide a custom made garden building product that is available throughout Essex, London and the Home Counties; with a custom build facility for Beach Huts on a Nationwide spread.
Our intension is to work in partnership with our customers and service providers; to design a high specification garden building or any other garden room at reasonable prices, adding value to your property and your lifestyle.
Buildings can be fitted with high performance insulation and heat reflective double glazing ensuring a comfortable working/living/playing environment combined with very low running costs.
We can build a unique range of buildings suitable for your particular garden or requirements, and our free online planning & pricingservice will help in gauging the costs. We believe this will enable you to choose a Garden Building or Garden Room to suit your every need and budget.
Customer Service is at the heart of all we undertake. So, we don’'t mass producing Garden Buildings, and we do revisit our customers on the anniversary of all our installations. Keeping our overheads as low as possible, and focused on designing and creating a quality product at affordable prices is our key focus, in producing a luxury item at the right price, ensuring our customers receive the best possible outcome every time.

Today there are believed to be around 20,000 beach huts in the U.K. Wooden structures in the main that have to withstand the many different weather variations associated with coastline locations.
Maintaining and keeping these properties in tiptop condition is not always easy. That is why we have developed an exciting range of repair and replace options, plus design and build huts to your specifications.
Fibre cement weatherboard is the ideal low maintenance, rot free alternative to traditional timber weatherboarding.

Designed in partnership with the customer, a custom made Beach Hut that’s colourful, custom-made, with lasting qualities that will provide years of joy, coupled with a low maintenance routine. Our beach huts are designed to withstand the harshest weather conditions, resistant to rot, immune to pests or insect attack, and come from a sustainable resource.
You can be the designer, so your beach hut can have as little or as much by way of internal and external features as you desire. We can provide a UK wide service, assisting with the necessary authorisation before work begins, and disposing of the old hut if required. We recognise the stress of people working in your home, and that's why we estimate the average completion from first day on-site to be 10 working days before handing you the keys to a finished job.

Coastal Beach Huts
As well as the design and build option, we can supply a Coastal model that is available to buy on a short lead time. You can if you wish add additional features to either model.
Coastal Beach Huts come in two standard sizes; however they can be made to virtually any size depending on individual requirements.
Colours can be to the customers taste, and more than one colour can be applied and in any order. The hut’s framework is made at our workshop then transported to site, framework assembled and then cladded in situation to achieve the best possible finish.
Windows are an option on this model, but can be installed on most flanks of the building as required.
The Coastal Hut is a custom made product and built to order. Delivery time can be upto 6 weeks depending on current workload.

Why do you Design & Build, instead of having a kit form product that you erect on site?
When we look to enter this market we reviewed all of the alternatives. Most kit form product have a cheap headline price, but getting them to a decent all year round building really mounts up the cost. Ironically you've spent all that money and it's not your design! So it wasnt a hard decision for us when choosing the Design & Build preference.
Can you use any material to construct the building?
Pretty much. However, we have a real passion for using the fibre cement cladding for a whole host of reasons, just look around the site. but if you wanted your building build in another material, no problem! it's your house.
What are the payment arrangements?
We take 25% deposit with order, we than ask for a 50% stage payment on delivery of materials to your house and the balancing 25% is payable on completion. We can accept most forms of payment.
